In conversations on the subject of digitization, it is hard to avoid talking about forward-looking technologies. But digitalization is more than artificial intelligence, cloud and co. This was demonstrated by various lectures in Frankfurt last Wednesday.

"Co-Creating the Future" is the concept behind our Agile Innovation Day taking place at Montabaur Castle on February 1 and 2, 2018. Because networked, collaborative, and flexible cooperation between companies is increasingly becoming a fundamental factor in the ability to innovate. Alongside our host, ADG (Akademie Deutscher Genossenschaften), and our partners in the Innovation Alliance, we will bring together thought leaders and decision makers in innovation and corporate strategy to work in various future labs and develop tangible potential actions based on trends, insights, scenarios, and approaches.

UMS was represented at the 2017 JCNetwork Days in Frankfurt (Oder) from November 17 through 19 where eleven up-and-coming consultants earned their "JCNetwork Certified Junior Consultants (CJC)" certification. For the first time, the certification session was run in the new format by UMS and JCNetwork in partnership. We would like to heartily congratulate these 11 young consultants on their achievement!
Another 36 student consultants were also trained on Six Sigma and became Lean Yellow Belts. Once again, UMS consultants were enthralled and inspired by the students' contagious spirit and dedication.

March 11, 2017 saw the 26th Mathematics Day take place with the aim of encouraging people to enjoy using math. Senior grade students in eleven locations right across Germany had the chance to take part in math competitions. Around 400 participants from Frankfurt and the surrounding region came together at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and House of Logistics & Mobility. Lord Mayor of Frankfurt, Peter Feldmann, handed out the prizes: "On the one hand, spending an entire Saturday working on mathematics means that you have a special talent for it. On the other, that you have dedicated teachers who specifically encourage your interests."
UMS served as sponsor to Mathematics Day at House of Logistics & Mobility.
How can we connect two geographically adjacent locations and create an attractive city center for business owners and customers? How can we boost people's desire to shop in the city center, or encourage industry to settle in selected districts? Are these questions solely the remit of local politicians? Not exactly.

Every UMS employee is a triathlete – consultant, trainer, and coach. As consultants we highlight potentials and develop strategic concepts. As trainers we share knowledge and teach implementation capabilities. As coaches we support and advise on managing and realizing programs and projects.
One UMS colleague decided to take this principle and run with it – quite literally. After a full year of preparations, Martin Slusarek took part in Ironman Frankfurt, completing a 3.8-kilometer swim followed by 180 kilometers cycling and 42 kilometers running. And he mastered every single challenge. We're very proud of his achievements and congratulate Martin on this extraordinary success.
So now we know all about the future of processes. Right? They need to be lean, innovative, and digital, on that much everyone was already agreed. But what does that mean specifically, especially for the finance sector? How do these buzzwords relate to actual practice?
These are thoughts well worth sharing. And countless managers and employees from the finance sector, innovation and digitization experts, and operational excellence officers seized on this opportunity to attend the ProcessLab anniversary conference on June 9, 2016 at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
This year's Agile Innovation Day took place on February 24, 2016 at House of Logistics & Mobility (HOLM) in Frankfurt am Main. The theme for this year was "The Working World – Beyond Tomorrow".
