Expleo, a global engineering, technology and consulting services provider and UMS Consulting are further expanding their strategic partnership. To this purpose, Expleo has signed an agreement to acquire the shares in UMS Consulting. The agreement became effective on 1 July 2022.
Headquartered in Frankfurt, UMS Consulting has a strong presence in Germany with a global reach for its customers, and over 35 years of management consulting experience in strategy implementation, leadership, end-to-end process optimisation, innovation and digitalisation with a focus on lean-agile. This strategic partnership, deepened through the acquisition, will strengthen Expleo’s digital transformation capabilities in Germany and Europe, and expand its presence in key strategic growth sectors such as banking, automotive, transportation, energy & utilities, and pharma & chemicals.
Through this acquisition, Expleo will add UMS’ management consulting expertise to its deep cross-industry capabilities in engineering and technology. As a result, customers will benefit from end-to-end support on their transformation journeys, from strategy to implementation. "The acquisition of UMS allows us to further expand our consulting offering. The capabilities, client portfolios and geographic footprints of our two organisations are highly complementary and we are confident that they will support our growth and add greater value to our clients globally," says Damien Lasou, EVP Consulting & Business Services, Expleo.
UMS has more than 60 consulting experts and will join Expleo as an affiliate, continuing to operate under the UMS Consulting name as an autonomous brand, collaborating closely with Expleo and its other consulting affiliates in the UK and US – Moorhouse and Trissential – on common clients and objectives. UMS will also leverage Expleo’s global footprint and robust end-to-end digital and engineering capabilities to support customers around the world. “By being part of the Expleo Group, our clients will benefit from Expleo's world-class digital and technical capabilities. Our two companies have been successful partners for some time, so this is a natural next step for us. We look forward to this new era in our relationship and see it as a catalyst for mutual growth in the years to come," says Stephan Lunau, Managing Director of UMS Consulting.

March 11, 2017 saw the 26th Mathematics Day take place with the aim of encouraging people to enjoy using math. Senior grade students in eleven locations right across Germany had the chance to take part in math competitions. Around 400 participants from Frankfurt and the surrounding region came together at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and House of Logistics & Mobility. Lord Mayor of Frankfurt, Peter Feldmann, handed out the prizes: "On the one hand, spending an entire Saturday working on mathematics means that you have a special talent for it. On the other, that you have dedicated teachers who specifically encourage your interests."
UMS served as sponsor to Mathematics Day at House of Logistics & Mobility.

Every UMS employee is a triathlete – consultant, trainer, and coach. As consultants we highlight potentials and develop strategic concepts. As trainers we share knowledge and teach implementation capabilities. As coaches we support and advise on managing and realizing programs and projects.
One UMS colleague decided to take this principle and run with it – quite literally. After a full year of preparations, Martin Slusarek took part in Ironman Frankfurt, completing a 3.8-kilometer swim followed by 180 kilometers cycling and 42 kilometers running. And he mastered every single challenge. We're very proud of his achievements and congratulate Martin on this extraordinary success.

So now we know all about the future of processes. Right? They need to be lean, innovative, and digital, on that much everyone was already agreed. But what does that mean specifically, especially for the finance sector? How do these buzzwords relate to actual practice?
These are thoughts well worth sharing. And countless managers and employees from the finance sector, innovation and digitization experts, and operational excellence officers seized on this opportunity to attend the ProcessLab anniversary conference on June 9, 2016 at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
